This
latest contest is over, and winners should be announced
soon. I'll post a photo of the winning group (you may be in
it!) as soon as I can. If you didn't enter this year, or
didn't win one of the fifteen spots, keep trying. It took me
eight years to make it in.
Next contest: 2012.

Writers groups are a passion of B.J.’s. Sometimes called
critique groups, B.J. belongs to three: two face-to-face
groups and one online. Encouragement, support,
motivation—those are the three primary reasons B.J. loves
her writers groups. She enjoys the feedback on her work, and
she relishes helping others.
Can’t
find a group? Want to join one but don’t know what to
expect? B.J. wondered if there was a book out there to help
writers with those questions, but she didn’t find what she
was looking for—so she wrote one. This book provides the
needed tools in an easy-to-read format. Sections are devoted
specifically to face-to-face groups, online groups, and
dealing with issues and challenges. In addition, you will
find a section on how to critique.
There are three secrets to
longevity and the success of a writers group:
structure, guidelines and
commitment. B.J. shares her
practical, hands-on knowledge from a combined 20 years
in writers groups.
